i² CIDO Innovation Centre

An exciting and unique new Innovation Growth Centre in Craigavon for Craigavon Industrial Development Organisation (CIDO).

Following a successful ITT process, McAleer & Teague were appointed as Main Contractor for the provision of a new Innovation Growth Centre in Craigavon for Craigavon Industrial Development Organisation (CIDO); the local enterprise agency for business start-up and development assistance in the Craigavon District Council Area.

The design of the Centre provides an exciting and unique environment to support the growth and development of the new technology-based business.Phase 1 comprised the construction of the 2 storey building with a gross floor area of 1530m² over ground & first floor levels. The building is fully flexible and capable of extension to provide both additional business units and administrative and support facilities.

The works comprised in-situ concrete trench fill foundations, waterproof tanking, block work walls, a structural steel frame and metal & plywood roofing and decking. Double glazed aluminium windows, external doors and curtain walling were fitted throughout as well as the completion of internal finishes, disabled toilet fittings, provision of fire fighting equipment, M&E installations and lift installation.

The central spine of the building provides access to each of the units and is designed to encourage interaction between tenants.

The building itself is filled with natural light and incorporates air to water heat pumps as a renewable heat source.
